It stars Sean Astin (The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Rudy, Stranger Things) and Academy Award winner Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance). Brent co-edited and co-composed the music for the film. The film garnered positive reviews and landed a 'fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 'Woodlawn' also received a 5 star rating on iTunes.

He also co-composed the original score for the film. The film garnered positive reviews and landed the coveted 'fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 'Unconditional' also received a 4.5 star rating on both Netflix and iTunes.

Brent wrote, directed, edited and co-scored this award-winning narrative film that won 3rd place at the Doorpost Film Festival in 2009. Shot on location in the magical 'Lost Pines' of Bastrop, TX, this story is set in a purgatory-style afterworld, where people's most vivid memories of their past life, either good or bad, follow them. When the main character, Jude, discovers a lost and abandoned 9-year-old girl, he must make a choice - either escape this world by himself, or risk his own freedom in order to help Nadia escape.

'The Messenger' was created for the Steven Spielberg/Mark Burnett show, 'On the Lot'. After a personal viewing by Spielberg, Brent was invited to join the semi-finalists for the show in Hollywood. Out of over 11,000 filmmakers, Brent made it into the top 24 filmmakers of 'On the Lot'. 'The Messenger' starred Mark Lee and was shot entirely on location in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area. Because of the film's reception and Brent's success on the show, he was awarded a first-look deal with Dreamworks and Fox.
